Originally a Sydney-sider, Katie's experience living and working in Paris and London shaped the designer she is today.
Working across cultures and countries Katie brings a blend of European style and international experience to the creation of a uniquely Australian sensibility.
In Paris Katie was chef du projet for interior design icon Christian Liaigre, whose clients include Karl Lagerfeld, Rupert Murdoch, Ian Schrager and Larry Gagosian.
Working alongside Christian, the clean lines and bold shapes of his designs left an indelible impression. She learnt that sophistication is the ultimate luxury.
The allure of contemporary French minimalism, with its cultivated restraint and timeless opulence, blended with the tactile beauty of natural materials, inspires much of Katie's work today.
However, no two assignments are the same. Each is an expression of the client’s individuality, personality, living style and preferences, informed by open dialogue and exchange.
Katie sees her role is to interpret her client's wishes, resolving the pragmatics of form and function, to create a seamless integrated whole. Highly functional, serene and beautiful, resonant and refined, a place to luxuriate in the moment by moment experience of life.
Clients appreciate Katie's discretion and privacy – a service more comprehensive than a decorator and more specialised than an architect.
